Yeah, 13th warrior is a guilty pleasure of mine. I read crichtons book before I saw the movie, and was stoked when the movie was made. I'll admit that I really don't compare the two very often, both are great in their own regard, and both are in my top 10 of favorite books and movies list.

I don't have that one, but like it for what it is, the DVD that I do have is Beowulf & Grendel with Gerard Butler, filmed in Iceland, very good and over shadowed by the cartooonish one in the movie theaters.......SanMarc.

I also have Beowulf & Grendel with Gerard Butler and think it;s by far the best version done of this movie by far.Instead of some of the junk that has come out, one version with giant rediculas monsters and exploding automatic crossbows and every viking with horns on his helmet. There's another version with Christopher Lambert playing Beowulf as an immortal demi god with weapons that look like something from a Mad Max movie.Plus I really couldn't get into that latest version that was like half cartoon and half real life version that was reliesed in theaters. The Gerard Butler version humanized Grendal making me feel sorry for him (the first time Grendal had a decent back story)Starting the way his father was killed for stealing one fish.

I found both very entertaining. Beowulf and Grendel kind of puts a twist on the original story. They had some good armor and weapons in that one if I remember right. And the newer Beowulf I think stays a little more with the original story. Not following it completely obviously, but closer.

You can change the site to US $ so it makes it $225.88 not to bad and I think shipping was about $50.00. I'm glad it's hollow It would be hard to PU otherwise. Still welded steel plates would still put a dent in a lot of armour.

There was a movie on Saturday Called "Thor" Hammer of the God's" the hammer used in that movie was exactly what I would like to have. IMHO the large hammer was perfect,Larger than what I'm used to seeing Thor with but WOW I liked it (the hammer) a bunch. www.imdb.com/title/tt1260572/I cant believe Thor was Zachery Ty Bryan, He played Brad on "home Improvement" Anyways The story was about Thor trying to reclaim his hammer from a son of Loki, not a bad movie for SYFY.Anybody happen to have a picture of the hammer anywhere or see the movie.

He he gotta love deadpool ............. I didnt get into the new Beowulf movie on the first watch but after a couple of times its really grown on me ........... I think they tried to hit a level of authenticity with it if you notice alot of the costuming, weaponry and story etc ............ so I really like it now ........ Plus the attitude of the guy who played Beowulf (I just call him Bors cause he was in that King Arthur movie) was a priceless choice for it
