I'll see your idiot and raise you one... I'm not saying this one is, but this could be easily faked. In fact I'm gonna hope it is. As for the choson ninja, I mean really, this guy should get a girlfriend. I think if he actually saw a semprini, let alone feel one, he might grow up a little.

I'll see your idiot and raise you one... Looks like the one took a hit in the arm. I can only assume the blade was blunt, but not so much as to not chop a...cucumber?

Hey marc, that looks like it´s a fake. The two cucumbers being held by the arm looks like the arm got hit and the close up of the on at the neck, you can see he DID get nicked. Had the sword been sharp, there would have been blood. Not that using a blunt sword for something like that is exactly safe...but your not at risk for losing limbs. Broken bones, yes (and the one held at the neck was incredibly dangerous)...but not chopped off limbs.

You know what's wrong with Choson?
Not his useless twirling of the blade although that's pretty stupid.
It's his sloppy footwork. Not only does he make strange walking/shuffeling movements. But when he cuts, his step is to wide and he ends up being out of balance. The second video, the second cut in the slow motion you can see it even more clearly. And i've seen it in more of his video's
That guy shouldn't be allowed near a sword.

This one is even worse. That guy is really dangerous!!! And not because of his so called ninja skills but lack of common sence.

Man, I hate these "demonstrations" where people put lives at risk just to make their own male appendage feel bigger!
And Avery: Holy god!! That one made me laugh! Have a Karma!

I don’t really care if this guys style is semprini, or if his footwork is sloppy, what I do care about is that what he is doing is down right dangerous. Doing this kind of stupid stunt is going to eventually end up cutting someone’s fingers off or one of his “students” will cut someone’s fingers off.

And Avery: Holy god!! That one made me laugh! Have a Karma! Many thanks. As for the choson ninja, I think it's probaly only a matter of time before he hurts some one. 'Course he may have, and no one knows about it. Think about it, with the kind of fanatical following this guy has, he could get away with anything. I think its also only a matter of time before he loads up his followers in a bus, heads down to south America, drinks some cyanide kool aid and tries to catch a ride on the space ship behind the comet.

I wish what he was doing was against the law, I would run down to Cali and have him arrested in a couple hours.
Even when actual professionals do this kinda of stunt, they do it with long stalks of bamboo and cut off ends.

I'll see your idiot and raise you one... It was a couple on incidents like this and my refusal to participate that saw me leaving my original martial arts school. Even with a steel blunt that sh** is way too risky. I don't care how long a person has trained or if dang Zheng Wu, lord of battles, himself is doing the demonstration - you come that close to me with a sharp object, I'm fighting for my life. As for Choson Ninja, all I can say is apparently the stupid have all the luck because he's still alive. I don't envy that man's ER bill. He has to have a big one.

Well LP, I agree with you on that. Even if it is a circus trick, I still don´t like it. Somebody tries with a sharp and it´s bad news. It´s like the watermelon trick that everyone use to use before everyone figured out it was a trick. If you knew, you could pull it off pretty safely...but some people who didn´t know tried it and some people did get hurt because of it. Actually one of my nephew in korea was part of one such demo where a sharp sword was used and now he is missing a nipple and has a 14 inch scar on his chest. However a circus trick being done properly pails in comparison to baseball batting a target out of somebody´s hands using a sharp sword.

The exact demonstration that was one of the top causes for me to leave that particular school was the infamous potato on the back of the neck. There was no trick to the demo, real potato not pre-split, sharp sword - a 440 stainless katana from Century Martial Arts. My refusal to the participate in the demo (I was part of the demo team, the Uke actually) precipitated the argument that saw me leave that school and is one of the reasons I never spoke to my former instructor again until over decade later. BTW, that instructor is no longer allowed to teach in the area and was stripped of his belt, but that is a long story for another time.

Well, that particular instructor was teaching real traditional Tae Kwon Do with some additions for weapons practice (true TKD is a weaponless style) and some basic self-defense thrown in. The demo team was for a group called Martial Arts for the Handicapable run by Late Isshin-ryu Grandmaster Ted Vollrath. Grandmaster Vollrath was not the instructor in question and a man whom I have nothing but respect for. The incidents I am referring to were all done with out Grandmaster Vollrath's knowledge.
However, about a year after I left the school an incident happened in which a student was seriously injured during a weapons demonstration. Grandmaster Vollrath called a council of all the local martial arts instructors that ran school and did an investigation on the instructor who allowed the injury to happen, Let's call him Sensei X. Well, it was found out that Sensei X had faked his original black belt certification although he had officially qualified for his more advanced belt rankings. Sensei X was summarily drummed out of martial arts in the area where this occurred. The council of Masters and Grandmaster Vollrath all petitioned the International Tae kwon do Federation to have Sensei X's black belt rank stripped. This all happened some years ago but the demonstration vid made me think of it.
