Okay so no tape is introduced in this version...but equally dangerous and deadly none the less.
Note that the tang is shaved down the fit the bamboo (i.e. rat tail tang)...and it isn't actually fastened in any manner. Follow this and your gonna kill somebody...yes they have the disclaimer, but it is a wink wink disclaimer and bloody dangerous as it makes this death waiting to happen not even a weapon.

Why is it that every time i see a "choson ninja" opening splash screen, a spectacle of stupidity follows? Up to this point, i only saw some horrid "technique demonstration" videos, but this.... i don't know how can he dare to call that thing "a sword". That thing is ugly, not really functional, and above all- dengerous.

I agree with you all...
But man I wish I had his tools!! Then I could finally finish my sword!!
And he should not even be teaching people this stuff. Even though it is ugly as sin and does not qualify as a real weapon, someone could use this minimal knowledge and kill someone. This would even be easier than buying a decorative sword, as this would cost next to nothing.
I once had respect for the guy for at least trying... But it is getting ridiculous now.

I think I lost brain cells watching that. That is the worst weapon making advice I have ever seen.

i don't know how can he dare to call that thing "a sword". He called it a "throw-away ninja-to". He probably threw it away after he filmed this demo . --Edward

Ok, if I were an autistic child, raised in a cave this would be cool.....but I'm not, I wasn't so it's isn't. Thing is, I wouldn't mind this guy making an ass of himself if people didn't actually buy into his B.S. I can see making something like this for maybe display but to infer use, thats a bit ridiculous.

The scary part is if you read the comments there are people actually doing or thinking of doing this. Bloody dangerous and irresponsible.

The worrying thing about this, is its the kind of thing that will appeal to kids. Encouraging kids to make dangerous weapons is very questionable.

Ninjas. Thats all I have to say about that. Also: The scary part is if you read the comments there are people actually doing or thinking of doing this. Bloody dangerous and irresponsible. If you've ever read the comments of almost any youtube video you know they're going to get themselves killed accidentally one way or another, might as well be via a "gardening tool".

You should care if you wanna still be able to collect swords. Enough people get hurt with ¨gardening tools¨ and you will see the ban hammer coming down against us collectors/martial artists/enthusiasts.

Idiots will just find another way to get hurt. Or, as momma Gump used to say - stupid is as stupid does.

If something like this happens in America (a ban) then it's little brother Canada is going to copy, as usual. Except maybe tighter restrictions. And all this because some idiots HAVE to make up for their own inadequacies by doing stupid crap like flaunting their "skills".

I might be mistaken but I think he actually confused the tang with the blade.

Actually I did make something like that at one point in my life, but rather than using a mild steel blank - I used the leaf spring from a HEMMT 10 ton cargo truck. Ground it into a double edged machete type blade and attached a wood handle using metal roll pins and epoxy. Extreme care was taken during the grinding process using lots of non-sparking oil (sulfur oil) to keep the metal cool so that the temper wouldn't compromised.
This was a task accomplished when I was younger and even less wise than I am now (not that I am a wise man). And looking back with more knowledge it was very much a foolhardy effort, but there were still more safety precautions taken than Choson Ninja shows. That blade itself was lost many, many years ago not that I would still want to have the thing around.
