It looks like Choson Ninja has chosen himself to be Darwin's facilitator; I mean, the world is overpopulated, right? If there are people dumb enough to follow this nitwit, I don't necessarily want them clouding up the gene pool.
I mean, I know we need dummies to do certain things, but do we need so many? LOL

I'm reminded of a book series by Terry Goodkind, "Wizard's First Rule." The upshot of it is that the wizard's first rule is "... people are stupid." Choson Ninja definitely exemplifies that thought.
However, with my comments on reaction, as it stands knives are far from illegal in the US however, as it stands if I am carrying anything with a blade over 3" people start looking at me sideways and I draw unwanted attention from men in blue. People like Choson ninja teaching unsafe actions when dealing with tools (when all is said and done a sword is just another type of tool albeit with a very specific purpose) is why so many people are becoming inordinately afraid of them and causing this panic reaction over regulation. I believe it is up to us as responsible swordsmen/women, responsible martial artists, as responsible human beings to share our knowledge of how to use tools such as knives and swords safely so that illumination and intelligent thought can be the deciding factors on how such things are regulated rather than fear and panic, which is what we get from the actions of someone like Choson Ninja. As a wise woman one told me, "Any decision made based on fear is the wrong one." When unsafe actions are promoted that is precisely what we get from those who create regulations, decisions based on fear. Enough said from me, at this point, putting away my soapbox now.

Just another example of what a dangerous individual this is. On the bright side, perhaps he is contributing to Darwinism

Excellent series; I started on them last week and am now on Soul of Fire- but there's so much going on in the way of disasters and what have you, I'm not sure how much more I can take! LOL Tried watching the show; the woman they have playing Kahlan is spot on to me, but not anything else...except maybe Zedd, he looks just like I envisioned. Sorry for the hijack, where was I- oh yes, idiots and swords. They'll pare down that erratic gene pool yet!

Legend of the Seeker- it usually comes on TBS I think; based on the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. If you like sword and sorcery epics, then this is a must-read series, 12 books in length. It comes on ABC, Saturday nights at 9 I believe; I usually catch the re-runs on Sundays if I bother to.
To me, the books are WAY better...they would translate well to Hollywood but the budget for the tv show is limited...at least, enough so that they dumbed down the text and changed it to fit their vision of the stories.

I had no idea "Legend of the Seeker" was based on the Terry Goodkind series. I might have to check out a couple of episodes.

LP, just keep in mind it is BASED on it, but I do not think they're following the books to the letter...it'd be near impossible for them to do it. My sister told me about the show after she intro'd me to the books...GREAT books. Wizards First Rule: all people are idiots.

I already have the small siberean salt mine handy, for comparing the show to the books (actually I got bored with the series after the 5th book). However, just having finally acquired an X-box 360 it might be a few days before I watch TV again. Anybody know any good sword games?

LP, the best one I ever played was Assassin's Creed as far as swordwork goes...your character is a sword-wielding god so to speak (he is an Assassin, but his skills are flawless) - and the movement/control schema is very natural, once you pick it up, its second nature. Not to mention, you get to hunt Templars in the Holy Land; the game is set during the Third Crusade. You even run across King Richard, although you aren't close enough to actually get to him, but you do get to take care of his Lieutenant, William of Montferrat. The environments are jaw-dropping in visuals and the game boasts some of the most accurate modeling of the cities (Jerusalem, Damascus, Acre and Arsuf) ever done, period, in a game. 1191 is the year. It blends historical elements with what I call light fantasy (no magic, but some exhilirating swordfights, including blocking with the blade and usage of other medieval weaponry, ie, throwing knives, shortsword, hidden blade) and your opponents will have an assorted mishmash of chainmail, padded gambesons, conical helms (for the European Crusaders) and the like. I STILL enjoy playing this game from time to time...at one point, I tried to engage EVERY guardsman in the port city of Acre...counting the bodies was loads of fun. The most I could get in one single area was something like 30-35 bodies that stayed there (you know in some games, once you've killed someone the body disappears...always hated that). I think you might like it.
There are, of course, other sword-related games like Fable (which gives you a simplified attack based on your character's position) or even the LOTR games (the later ones were more strategy based and less about the hero's journey like in the Two Towers and ROTK games for the PS2 and XBOX); if you want a mix of strategy and swordplay, try Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, loosely based on the Wars of the Roses - this is where you'll lead units into battle as a merc captain; you can also change history, so to speak and affect the outcomes so that they differ from how things actually went.
If you've a taste to be a Samurai, try Dynasty Warriors 6; its a hack and slash game so you'll be cutting'm up in no time. If you want to be a Ninja, go for Ninja Gaiden- more difficult, but a lot more visceral as well.
If you're anything like me, you might not be watching TV for quite some time...anyway, good luck in your search and HAVE LOADS OF FUN!!!!
Might I suggest Grand Theft Auto IV if you've a mind to run rampant in a stylized version of NYC; the story's amazing and the fluid controls as well as the hectic gun battles make for some truly awesome gameplay. There's also Mafia II and Godfather II as well, if you've a taste for Omerta-style posturing. lol

So I posted on the video and this is what Choson said:
Teyobi (2 minutes ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply | Spam | Remove | Block User Please, DO NOT MAKE OR USE A S.L.O. LIKE THIS! These are just a death trap waiting to happen. Real swords need to be made out of carbon steel, tempered, and heat treated to be usable. These S.L.O.s could do major damage to you since the steel has a low carbon content and could snap off and helicopter through the air.
S.L.O.=Sword Like Object
ChosonNinja, So all carbon steel real swords have never failed? Only the one I make are death traps? Really?
Have you ever made one of these under 20 inches? I think not.

Chosonninja isn't someone anone should be taking advice from... He lies and makes up historical facts (as documented on youtube). Why should anyone listen to someone who almost cut a kids arm off?
