Aw Marc... When you hinted at this 'Distrubance in the Force' a few days ago, I SWARE TO ALL THAT IS HOLY my first thought was "Crap, I hope nothing bad happened to his new Ryu... that would suck beyond the telling of it." I feel so bad for you...

Sorry about the Kat man, but at least there were no injuries.

Sorry about the Ryu! I'm not usually superstitious, but I can see how this must seem like some kind of a sign. On the seventh cut, even! Glad no one was hurt, too!
Good luck for your new direction and focus- I hope you find it fulfilling and enriching! I gather you're not giving up entirely on JSA and katanas, though, right? It seems to me that it would be a shame to move away from them entirely...
All the Best to You!
Cheers

By This Sign... Change Shall Come And ye shall know it by this sign.... thy swords shalt be split asunder , and cast down, even unto the Earth. Thy swords shalt be broken , even as thy old ways art broken, and if a man would be made whole again, he must arise, verily .and lift a new sword to the sky... the old shalt be no more , and the new shalt be born, in spirit and in steel.... This is awesome. I googled it and came up empty. Did you write this ?

No , no injuries... except a broken heart Don't play coy Marc, we all know it went on a bloodthirsty rampage across Atlanta until it was put down by a police firing squad.

yay verily the SIGN hath been witnessed and must be adhered to! sorry to hear of such a pretty sword breaking but you are absolutely correct about the custom vs. production issue. I'm moving a little bit towards custom myself, but the move is slow, I just hope I don't get a similar sign.

We also have to remember that production swords that break are the exception, and not the rule. *Any* blade that is improperly made --custom or mass-produced-- will break. It's sad, and frightening, that this happened. However, well-made mass-produced blades from reputable forges are still worth the money, despite events like this one. --Edward

Is there a possibility they would replace the broken Katana?
