You know,...I still can't transition from a hammer grip to a handshake grip on a katana and get it to work, no matter how much I practice, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!........ At least you know something is wrong...I have seen a lot of the self taught people do it wrong and not even realize they are doing it wrong and muddle their way through with their cutting. Unfortunately my ability to explain it via internet isn´t gonna help you...if you can´t find somebody in person then maybe try and get the a copy of the LE reclaiming the blade. They have a training video that shows and explains holding a katana pretty well in it. I meant that as a joke, But in truth, I do cut a helluva lot better with one handed westerns than I do with kats...as anyone who's seen my review vids will tell ya.

I have to say that being "fixed" is not a bad thing, it is about mastery. If you aren't fixed or focused then you will be at best a jack of all trades but always a master of none.

Ah hehe...well I always do better with a katana in cutting...despite the fact that I prefer western swords. Odd ain´t it...but the way I see it, just cutting is only a small part of what a sword does overall in combat and I like the western sword´s overall package better. But anyways try to do one handed cuts without leaving big opening though...I think you may find cutting one handed gets a lot more difficult then compared to two handed cuts .

tamagashiris is the super-secret and superior in every way nintaijutsu version on tameshigiri... In tamagashiris you always cut things people are holding... or tossing, and you thumb your nose at traditional values like safety and control and discipline and technique Who needs that stuff when you are ninja? So you take wild , natural , baseball swings... it shows an advanced level of skill that is able to completely ignore technique... It is the cutting version of freestyle and flow... Yes ,tamagashiris TRULY is the next level.... the next GREAT thing.

It takes a very high level of foolishness, at least a blackbelt in stupidity and the highest rank in ignorance-do to preform. For some it takes years of training, others are just born with it.. Choson.....I guess he's a natural.

LOL that IS funny, But, I find I have to apologize for my own post... although I find this whole Choson guy amusing, when he is not downright offensive, I should never have posted what I did. As a moderator I should not have stooped ... Everyone, please ignore my example... If I keep it up, I'm going to have to ban myself.... Sorry guys... I slipped.

It happens... ya fell off the wagon. I find ChosonNinja hillarious as well... it's hard not to make a joke. I know I'd rather make a joke then get serious about him because, well... ...yeah.

I couldn't have said it better myself! +1 (when I recharge) to Marc, first for an amousing post, and second for being the stand-up kind of guy he is and apoligizing for something that someone COULD have taken as offensive, without even being called on it. Nice job, Marc. ;D -Slayer

please forgive me if this point has been gone over as i didnt feel like reading every post..but i gotta ask...has anyone out there heard the expression"like throwing gas on a fire"? cause it seems to me for every post be it negative or positive towards Greg Park just gives him more recognition just like another common expression"any publicity is good publicity" even if it appears bad...he may claim to be a master...but his youtube vids are under the entertainment category...and thats how i take them as they are often worth a good laugh if nothing else

Oh no worries on that score...
Were he to sneak into my hold, he would meet an icy fury the likes of which he has never even dreamed, and the floods of that cold wrath would wash him into a world of pain and fear so profound that he would cry out to his creator for release from the unceasing torment... but alas , no sucrease will come.
His writhings and moaning would serve as passing entertainement to the cold blue eyes that gazed upon his countetnance , as a kitten is enthralled by the feeble strugglings of the grasshopper trapped between his front paws...
And all that would be merely from irritating my lovely red-headed warrior lass....
I am not sure if she would give me even a chance to play... ;D
No I do not fear his ire... I only try to hold my behavior to higher standard then I am exhibiting with my wiseacre remarks...
It's just so hard, to resist....
