I got the Boromir from DSA sword last week and decided to cut a new scabbard for it. I used 1/4" poplar for the core and 2oz leather for the outer. For decor, I used suede strips and small copper tacks. I used the chape and locket from the stock Boromir scabbard. I wanted something that looked old and antiquated, so I added patina to everything and gave it a little wear before waxing it. I also cut a steep bevel under the chape with sculpts to keep it from slipping down in the belt. I have the Ranger belt for this, and I did not want to ever worry about adjusting the frog once this is mounted. It could be a little thinner, but at least I got it out of the vinyl covered DSA sheath thingy. I am pretty happy about it. Its the most decorated scabbard I have done yet. ;D

Very, very nice Odingaard. I was going to buy 1/2" poplar for a scabbard, but I suppose 1/4" would be a better choice. Thanks for posting.
