Hello everyone! Some of you have already seen my tsukamaki works before. /index.cgi?action=display&board=swordcustom&thread=1868 /index.cgi?action=display&board=swordcustom&thread=5708 /index.cgi?action=display&board=swordcustom&thread=6275 Here's another one that I would like to share with you... this is a sword purchased from a local online sword seller here in the Philippines, the seller's name or their brand of swords is called "Geisha's Blade". They were selling a spring steel katana, differentially tempered that came un-wrapped. Here are some pictures of the blade. Here are the fittings, tsukaito, and sageo I used. Now, here's the katana after changing the fittings and wrapping the tsuka. I now call it the "Kinryu" katana... enjoy! Thanks for looking! ;D -- Aldwin

The blade looks just like a Kris Cutlery. And KC 5160 blades are made in the Phillipines.... hmmm.

You know, I was thinking about it, and I think that all KC models that have bo-hi are made in China of 1060 steel. But then again so are all the other swords of this style...

Thanks ichiban! Btw, I just browsed through the customization board and saw your work, and I must say that you do a very great job yourself. Keep up the good work!

Damn nice colour combination. I've seen black ito used to match thiese fittings and i have to say they're horrible. Since then, i've been wondering what kind of colour would fit these fittings. I guess brown ito fits perfectly. Great job!! By the way, what happened to your saya samegawa wrap? Was it a success or was it left unattended?

Yeah, nice work aldwin. I like the way you did that little underwrap thing under the menuki, it makes the tsuka stand out nicely.

Thanks Chop! I believe this style of wrapping is called Shonin Zuka. I just love showing the beauty of the menuki in my wraps. Oni, thanks for the karma.

I guess you could say that my saya samemaki has been left unattended. Just didn't have the time or chance to finish the lacquering. Will post pictures when I'm done with it. Hopefully soon.

What colour of ito is that, and where did you get it from? I'm looking for a brown ito, but not too dark. It's not the dark brown, is it? That one seems to be close, but the ito always looks brighter when applied on a tsuka. The fuchi/ kashira, are those from Yamato Budogu?
