Oh Razor, I love you (kidding, I only like you). They must have just added those clamshell guantlets. I can't believe $90. I will get them myself. Having bought most of my key armor from A/B I can tell you you will not be disapointed.
You still need to wear padded gloves on the inside.
BTW the link you posted is not working, but I used your clue to find them. This must be something new they added, I don't recall seeing them before.

I was reading the melee practice thread and saw A/B site that tsafa posted and the armor looked like some of the armor that I have. I think www.renstore.com sales A/B armor because thats where I got mine,I have the spaulders and the gorget,so I was looking at all A/B stuff and saw the gauntlets for $90 but I still like the Paul Chen gauntlets.

I have been email coresponding with Kelly at A/B since yesterday. I'm gona get those guantlets. I am also working out details for some custom pommols for my two-handed rattan sword so I have a better weapon to fight with using my new guantlets. I already have an A/B crossguard on it, but the balance if off without the pommol. We are discusing an adjustable pommol so I can adjust the weight with washers.
It is convinent that I own so many real swords, that way I know exactly what kind of balance I want. I can compare the handling to my real swords.

Guantlets and pommol will ship in two weeks. Ascroft/Baker makes everything to order.
They made an interesting pommol design. It screws into the bottom of the rattan and it allows me to add large washers in between to balance the sword out.
