I know this particularly from talking to vendors that its illegal in Australia to import Daggers (double edged knives of any sort) or Maces (pole with metal flanged or spiked head). Now yeah yeah Australian weapon paranoia at its finest (yeah I suppose it makes the country safer with no daggers coming in ....... oh wait I got held up in 2006 by a druggo with kitchen knife) ........ but I'm curious to know does anyone know what prompted these particular restrictions when your adverage longsword or katana severes tatami like butter (limb anyone) ...... Additional: Are warhammers included ? can I get a polearm in ?? I'm trying to put together my personal good ol' man at arms collection together, you know dagger, polearm, some anti plate weapon and wondering how this is gonna go here in Aus

Look for Australian vendors, our best options are to go with custom Aussie makers. I wanted to import some very beautiful german based daggers a while ago, customs told me weapons that are easily concealed were not allowed, I sent back an email which basically said I would like to see someone conceal a 20" overall dagger. I think some of our laws are quite stupid and pointless, especially in regards to some things. I mean seriously why would I waste a beautiful knife in a felony where it would get confiscated? Most of the people walking around armed around here are armed with steak knives or short bars like trolley bars and that sort of thing. I have never known any thug to carry around daggers and the like, except occasionally the ol' home made boot knife. As for not allowing extendable batons and self defense weapons that is just stupid beyond all reason. So it's quite alright for me to carry around a truncheon or a riot baton but as soon as it is extendable that makes it dangerous? Not mention that these laws only hurt the people who are responsible, the criminals are the ones who these laws are designed to stop but they are the ones with the guns even though guns are illegal.

Well a big here here from myself ........ yeah it seems here in Brisbane we got a few Hanwei dealers and of course Deepeeka (vomit) ........ but no one for Windlass or anything much ........ who seem to do the yummiest range of daggers ........ Maybe I should get the martial arts class M licence and see if that will aid in getting particulars into the country ........ otherwise for every single item a temporary permit must be lodged with the federal government, then 4 weeks wait, then you have to send copies to customs and let them know exactly which airport the item will fly into (who knows with USPS to OZ) ...... so the airport has copies when your SINGLE DAGGER LANDS!!!!! ........ yep I've been struck with a hard stick by a drunk fella and had a crappy kitchen knife waved at me for the shops cash drawer ......... they should ban tree's and cooking utensils ..........
The flail, I can understand that one ......... an idiot could swing it back on himself and self harm himself so I can let that one slide a bit ........ a dagger ........ okay short boot dagger maybe think twice ......... long parrying dagger ..... oh come on ........... but a mace ......... FFS!!!! ..........
