Any review on this sword? I like the way it looks and was wondering about how strong it was.

Hi Seth mate I got this sword not long ago and it's alright. She's nice and stiff (no whippiness to speak of) but has a decent flex. I'll try and write a review when I get back from my army excercise. As for handling? To simulate the responsiveness of this sword go to your local supermarket and buy the largest fish you can. After buying said fish start whacking milk bottles and tatami mats Fish jokes aside she's an OK cutter but not very forgiving. She aint too responsive either (My Windlass Erbach handles waaaaay better one handed than this).

Thanks!
And what do you mean by unforgiving? To poor form?

What do you think of it's durability?
And where is the POB?

ahhh just got back filthy and smelling like the inside of a long distance runners' sock. Anywho, yup Seth, it's pretty durable and seems to hold up well to cutting. Not too sure bout the POB tho. I'll find out.

Just thought I'd do a wee bit of resurrection on this thread and say that, while doing some backward cutting, I cut a milkbottle in half while the bottom half remained filled with water. There's nothing wrong with the edge! She just lacks that killer responsiveness unfortunately.

I always thought that sword would be blade heavy; that it is not agile is probably no real matter as it was a hunting sword.

Thank You !!!! I've always had an interest in learning more about that one. There's a photo somewhere, I think on a thread at MyArmoury, of a period hunting sword that this one must be based on.

Any Idea where it is? Perhaps I could use it as a comparison?

I don't recall the myArmoury dissussion but there are a good number of swords to compare with in this online book. swordlinks.com/courtswords/intro.htmlThe galleries on myArmoury's front page goes to extensive galleries as well. I don't have my Blackmore Hunting Weapons book right handy but my hunch is it was referenced somewhere else. Cheers Hotspur; my keyboard and fingers are all ground metal right now, so I will look later but check that link for a good browseThread and picture at myArmoury www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=7854
