Kris Cutlery has a batch of naginata blades on sale for $45. They have an incomplete hamon that runs on and off below the tip. kriscutlery.com/documents/sale.htmlI've always wanted a naginata, and would of course like to make it myself, but is this blade worth it's price without the complete hamon? I'm actually gonna pay more than the blades cost in shipping and tax to my country, probably over $110 total. Would I get more for my money if I bought the regular blade at $95? (Which would cost me $190 total....)

I'd say it's worth consideration. I'd not get it, personally, because I'm really picky about hamon...but they say it's still functional so if that's all that matters to you then go for it.

I ordered one a few days ago Kris Cutlery isn't real fast on getting orders out. I'll let you know how it looks when it gets here.

Thanks! I ordered from them very early on the 22., and got a shipping notice the same day. If the nag had been available then, I'd added it to my order. Would have saved me $40.

Check with them I ordered on Jan 23 they still haven't shipped. I contact them by e mail Jan 26 about a cracked Kamagong fighting stick. They are going to put a replacement one in with my order.
By the way the Kamagong Fighting sticks are real nice.Very well finished a real dark Brown with some lighter brown streaks. Alittle smaller in dia. than I like 7/8 inch.

Yes I got my on Feb 9 nice looking blade. Since then I've ordered the Naginata phototype 4 balde they had on sale for $30.00 and the Korean sword #600 they had on sale. Like I said they are real slow on shipping
If it was for spending was too much money on swords and blades here lately I would get at least one more of the Naginata IV blades to mount up as a knike. I think it would make an interesting knfe
I got 2 pieces of red oak to make the shaft for the Naginata IV now I need to get 2 more for the 2nd blade I have coming in.
Right now I've got a bunch of projects I'm working on right now I've 2 or 3 ahead of the naginata.
