I am thinking about buying a bare blade from Kris Cutlery again. But I dont know where I can get a Saya big enough to fit the 29 inch blade...unless it fits in a 28 inch saya some how. I contacted Paul Chen (Cheness) and he will have 30 inch Sayas in April, and I cant find any where else to buy one. Any helpful links or a how to on maybe making one could be helpful at this point. I dont want to buy it and not have a place to store it.

HMM that sucks, any suggestions? I already email Kris Cutlery and they will not sell a Saya with a Bare blade...they told me I would have to make my own.
+1 For trying for me

Actually, it very well could work. Kris Cutlery blades of a given model can vary significantly from blade to blade in any and all dimensions, including sori. I have had KC blades that fit a Cheness saya perfectly, while others of the same model don't.
Take a look at your sori, and compare it to that of a Cheness 30" blade. It may be low enough that it could fit. It would be a bit of a judgment call, but if it could work out, buying one for $35 would be a heck of a lot easier (and more worthwhile) than making one for just a basic blade like this.
...Unless you are looking to learn and practice making a saya.

I did buy the blade from Kris Cutlery, comes next Tuesday. I will of course figure out if it fits in a Cheness Saya when it comes. I emailed them about the sori and they say it is 5/8th of a inch, so it may fit in a cheness saya.

Kris Cutlery Blade came and it does fit in a Cheness Saya, they have the same exact sori when I put the 2 blades next to each other. Only problem is, it is a 29 inch blade and Cheness wont have any 30 inch Sayas until april. I am tempted to buy a 33 inch saya and use that.

I ordered a 12 inch Tsuka, Seppa and 33 inch Saya. How would I carve Buffalo horn if I got some? and how would I attach it to the end I cut off?
