Greetings. I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks. I know a few people here from SFI and I've found this place to be very much to my liking; lots of really good information here. So, here I go with my first question. Does anyone have any experience with Stromlo Swords out of Australia? I'm rather taken by their 1796 Heavy Cavalry Saber (10th down from the top). The simple design and straight blade are right up my alley, and I was considering a purchase in the near future.

I think one of our members here is a rep or otherwise highly involved with Stromlo...I think his name is even stromloswords or something to that effect, but I've not seen them post in a while. I'll do some digging.
As to your specific sword, if I'm looking at the right one it's not really my thing but it looks like it'd be a fine blade. I think these are all blunt, though, so keep that in mind when buying.

Stromloswords deal in weapon Edge products, so if you do a search here on Weapon Edge or Weaponedge, you'll find out some more about the swords in general, but not about that one in particular, I think. I'm looking to buy some things from him soon too (probably 1917 cutlass and/or French briquet), and I'll be reviewing them once I do.
I PM'd him a little while ago, and I think his work takes him around a lot, and he doesn't always get a lot of time to check things out here on SBG, so be patient.
Good Luck
Cheers

Hi guys,
Yes it's me! I thought I would stay out and let people have their opinion, just wanted to add I can now order any of the swords to come with a factory sharpened edge ( I forgot for a moment today while moving stock and sliced into my palm ).
Anyway I would be happy to help and offer $20 off for prepaid backorders, and an extra $10 off for SBG members! Delivery is from Australia or USA. And yeah I also have a day job, I work as a Manager at a Texas Gun Store & Indoor Range for 3 x 12 hour days in a row so sometimes a response is a day or two.
Cheers,
Rob Owner and nice guy Stromlo Swords Australia & USA

Hey Rob, I don't know if this question is considered unorthodox, or something that a vendor should never disclose, but what would you say is your favorite of all the weaponedge swords? Just wondering randomly

Hi gabe,
Good question! Harder than i realised to answer. I would put the French 1803 Imperial Cavalry sword and British 1897 Infantry sword in the top three, but I really like the British 1831 General Officer Sword for historical accuracy and detail so it takes the top spot for me.
Thanks slayer!
