Hey guys, my grandfather passed away a couple years ago and my granny recently, and they were real old time folks so they had big live stock barns and stuff. I always know there's got to be more cool stuff that I just haven't found yet in those barns. Today I found one his knives, well and a broken slip joint pocket knife. But I think this is one of the knives he used for filleting fish or something to do with animals. It's got a natural patina on it cause he used the hell out of every knife he had, no matter the cost or quality. To prove that, look at the handle. That's just medical tape type of stuff wrapped on and he used it soo much that it's like leather now. Anyways, just thought some people might enjoy this, I love finding old stuff regardless of value. I'll probably sharpen her up and use it for throwing.

That's a very interesting style of blade, there. I wonder where it came from...

I did some quick research, I guess it's just a kitchen knife, it comes from J.A hecknels or something, based in germany, I wasn't able to find any knives from them besides kitchen knives, and it has the thickness of a kitchen knife. Wouldn't surprise me though, I've found a couple of knives that he used for skinning game and what not that were just kitchen knives.

Nothing wrong with a kitchen knife. There are some good ones out there. Shape of it intrigued me, though. Can't say I've seen one like it before.

Yeah I think it's a little big for a kitchen knife but that's all I could find from the company.
