Don't. Just skip the wallhanger, entirely.
Save your money, and just wait a few years until you have enough cash, and you're old enough.
Wallhangers come sharp, and either you or one of your friends are bound to decide to try cutting with it. You'll be happier with a real sword, LATER, than a semprini sword, NOW.

Musashi swords start at about 50 bucks or so save for 2 wall hangers and but buy one good sword.

You really can't collect 50 bucks for a musashi?!? Because any decent looking wall hanger is gonna cost at least 40. Those 20 dollar ones look so bad that it isn't even funny. So basically your looking at saving up 10 bucks more. If that's gonna break you, then don't even think of getting a car. Just don't...you can't take care of one.

Just check eBay, or a mall kiosk, or save cereal box tops. Wall hangers aren't hard to come by. I'm surprised you found this forum before finding one. You can get a piece of junk like you're looking for on eBay for like $20. I highly doubt anyone here will be willing to get more specific or shop for one for you. As expressed above, we really don't advocate wall hangers around here. There sort of the butt of the joke, actually.
Good luck.

If that's gonna break you, then don't even think of getting a car. Just don't...you can't afford to take care of one. I actually agree completely with Cold Napalm here (for once eh buddy? lol). Particularly the sentence above. Save up some money for one of the above stated entry level blades. Any one of them is going to be better than the best wall hanger katana made. Period...for little more than $10-$50 difference in price. If you want to waste your money, send me $50 and I'll send you THREE wall hangers =). Talk about decoration! Cris

There's a saying in sales, particularly in door-to-door sales, where I learned the field: "The poor are poor because they'll buy a piece of crap just because it's front of them right now."

Why get a wall hanger when you can get a useable one that looks just as nice or even better than a crappy swordlike object? I mean, it could be a last-ditch weapon on your wall, so get one that won't break easily. I had one on the wall (I still have it) and my father used it to kill a snake on our porch, strangely enough, because he panicked and couldn't find his shovel XD Probably won't happen to you, though, but...was a bit funny.
Although, even if it is built to be on a wall, a crappy wall hanger doesn't look as good as a real sword, in my opinion, and will actually be worth something if it can perform. Just saying...

Sorry if I seem rude and I may be going against forum rules... But... Why are you asking advice for a wall hanger? It doesn't really matter which one you buy, they all are crap anyway. I mean, I fail to see the point in this thread. Sorry but it is my opinion. I may be going against rules in being non-friendly, but wall hangers are essentially what this forum is trying to help you avoid.

While I agree that I don't like wall hangers , there is a VERY large market of nonfunctional, highend , wallhangers... All the mogito made in Japan aren't for training There are whole segmants of the market dedicated to expensive, well mad, decorative swords... Somehow I don't believe it is these the OP is referring to though...

Indeed. If it were, say, a Kit Rae or something it would be another story.

I agree with Seth, why ask advice on something that we consider a joke? Still, if you are dead set on a wallhanger, and nothing will change your mind, than there is a plethora of cheap things that look like steel on ebay. I can assure you they will most likely be made of some grade of stainless steel, with a welded rat tail tang. These things are only dangerous in the sense that they can break very easily and at the least little swing. If you do have an affinity for swords, trust me man, and just save up. Start a new thread on low cost entry swords and then ask our opinion. Believe me you dont want to start out buying these things, its a bad habit to fall into. A very bad habit.
Edit: I reiterate, if this is what you want, ther are plenty out there to choose from.

I agree with Seth, why ask advice on something that we consider a joke? . Why? To keep from being hypocrites ... Everyone goes on about what a friendly forum this is without the snobs and intolerance of SFI and others... it would seem that the snobbery exists , but on a different scale? Please realize the SFI crowd finds Cheness and DSA to be a joke... and it ticks most folks here off... so if evrtone really wants to not be like them... to be a friendly forum... they'll decline from telling this gentleman that his choice is a joke and just advise...or not. Just my 2 cents

Marc, you are right. I did not mean to offend this fella, and if I did so I apologize. The whole of my post(and I did add an edit) was meant to tell him how wallhangers are perceived here and why. I didn't just call them a joke, I expressed why we do not like them. I also said that if he is dead set to own one, go to ebay, there are plenty there. I also advised not to get into the habit of buying these as it leads to buying more in the future. These have low or no resale value, are dangerous to cut with, and in the end they are decoration only. Also, I advised if he plans to collect pieces in the future, not to get in the habit of buying these if he wants a functional blade.
