On another forum (http://www.chinahistoryforum.com/index.php?showtopic=29288&st=0&gopid=4964978entry4964978), was posted a request to help identify a sword.
On the grip, guard and scabbard, there are Qilin (kilin) playing with a ball.
Here are the links he posted to the links: Edit: Well, Nevermind. They work over on the original posting but not here...
What do you think?

I suggest that he try re-posting in the Antique & Military Sword section at SFI. There are a lot of new members since last year, one of which may be able to help out.
