wow, ok first I've heard of this. I wonder if the risk of that is any greater than the risk of a sword being poorly heat treated and breaking/failing because of it. I have four hana kage blades which is www.Roninswords.com folded sword and I can say that every one of them is very tough and a good blade, but they are the only folded sword I can say I have personally tested.

I have seen one cheap katana delaminate...but it wasn't a cheness, it was the shinwa stuff that budK sells. Yikes Marc, you sure do run into bad cheness a lot. Guess your cheness experience is like my DSA experience .

Guess your cheness experience is like my DSA experience . I've just been around I guess... The 3 Cheness I've had were pretty good for Cheness --- which means mediocre --- but I've seen a few faulty ones... I used to have pictures of the delaminated Kochou, but they have been deleted from my PC... but the friend was Tommy Gilliam , of Okinawa Outpost...I'm sure he'd discuss it with anyone interested... My experience with DSA is limited, the aluminium fittings, crowbar weights , and design plaigarism turn me off... the couple I handled were uninspiring..
