I realize that the armour class basket hilts are generally out of the price range of this forum, (except now 385 pounds, the cheapest of their basket hilts, is only like 550 dollars as opposed to more like 750 dollars not so long ago, what with the latest exchange rates) but I was still wondering what anyone here thought of them. Can anyone here, from personal experience say whether or not it is worth saving up 550 dollars for an armour class basket hilt broadsword as opposed to paying about half that much for a hanwei or cold steel basket hilt? The review at myarmoury seems favorable, but I was just wondering if I could get a second opinion here. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

in my book, anything by Armour Class is top notch. I own a mortuary hilt made by them (review on myArmoury as well) and it is the prize of my 20+ collection , even the antiques. They (as makers) don't get alot of press over here in the US, but are highly thought of in the UK re-enactment community.
cheers,
Bill

You know, I always wanted one of their mortuary swords...and I generally don't like those type of swords very much. And they are sub 300 now with the current exchange rate...except for the god aweful shipping costs .

Just wondering, how much would you say the shipping adds up to?
