Precisely. .............SanMarc. Really?? I've never heard of that any companies should be supported by the government! I don't think that's even legal according to EU and swedish competition laws! But KJ Ericsson and Frosts has gone together and formed the company Mora of Sweden now, but they still make the same type of knives as before! I think that the reason that they are so cheap is that every swedish worker carries one, they are simply made in sick amounts fully amost fully automatic here in Sweden! Me, as a welder/pipefitter, worn them out completely in maybe 2-3 weeks! And for your info, there has come a new brand of similar knives in Sweden now, Hultafors, also very good working knives, worth to look at!! www.hultafors.co.uk/default.asp?LanguageID=2The heavy duty knife and the double holster are really something special!

I bought a Mora about 5 years ago. It’s slightly different to the current design in that the handle is one peace of solid plastic. Its really a no thrills knife, the handle is just plastic and the sheath is also fairy cheap feeling plastic. BUT once you get over that you quickly realise that the blade is excellent. The blade can be quite easily be sharpened to a razor sharp edge. I have put mine through quite a bit of abuse over the last 5 years and I can’t say that I have any real complaints. The one drawback I can see is that the blade needs a little more maintenance then other blades it rust very easily, but with a little care this is not a problem.
For the price this is by far the best knife I’ve come across, and its probably better then many knives 2 or 3 times as expensive.

Hello all! Been a while since I last posted on the forum but I can let a discussion about mora knives and not post . I would have to say that even if he spent 500$ on a knife it would not be any sharper than the mora knife, they really are razor sharp. And I have to agree with Rickard, I don't think they are cheap because of goverment supports the company but rather that they produce so many knives and therefore keep the prices low. And also sweden is a big producer of steel and have been exported it for ages, it's one of the reasons we have been able to prosper. In Sweden you see the Mora knife everywhere, everyone has one and it works as an everything-tool, I've used them as screwdrivers, as hammers, I've used them to chop of spikes etc. And they really have a good blade, it does not get blunt easily and even when it does it's still sharp in some funny way. And about the handle, it's not pretty but it can take a lot of beating, I've not seen a Mora knife with the plastic handle broken ever, and I've used them to split logs with a hammer. But I also have to disagree with Richard, the Hultafors knife is not near as good as the mora, I bought 3 hultafors knives and they lasted as long as one Mora did while I was working on my fathers house. They became blunt very quickly.

Well it's good to hear from the guys in Sweden on this, I stand corrected, but, I know for sure, that Tolli is subd by the government, if you have seven members of a MC club with at least one bike, you get a club house rent free, And I'm not talking about outlaw clubs. So not having to pay rent! Cheaper parts....SanMarc.

I just received the DH mora knife. I am VERY impressed with it so far.
The single bevel is going to make it difficult to sharpen, for me anyways, but it is superbly sharp and a strong construction.
The sheath is something to be desired, not very good, but functional. The blade is just excellent, I couldn't be happier with it. Currently in the process of testing it.
Also, I am impressed with with Ragnar over at rag weed forge.
Knife came in 2 days and despite this, was onlt charged 6 dollars for shipping, not only that, but he was offering it cheaper than any other vendor I had found.
For a total of $18.60, I came out pretty good on this one.

single bevel knives are easy to sharpen, as long as it isn't hollowground.

A piece of hardwood and some 1200 sand paper wet/drie, and you have a cheep stone, you sharpen it like you would a chisel, one side only, not that hard...SanMarc.

Lol, I just realized I gave credit to Slavia for posting the Ragweed forge link...Whereas I should have credited kriegschwert, lol.
I just need some coffee and I'll snap out of my daze.
As for the single bevel, there isn't a visible grind like on a secondary bevel, it is a grind similar to that of a katana.
And it is symmetrical.
Much like the knife this guy has:
I like this bevel, it is very sharp, yet the DH blade (Which I tested a fair amount) stays quite sharp regardless.
