does anybody know if musashi swords have a uk distributor?
i wouldnt mind one of these new dh 1045's
but to order one from abroad, after shipping, import tax, bloody customs (they still have my 1601)... i may aswell not bother as it will most likely end up costing well over $200

Hmm.. $20-$40 USD in shipping costs then an $80 customs fee (right?) added onto the cost of the sword. I'd say that if you live in the UK you're kinda screwed when it comes to getting cheap swords. I mean - that's almost 1.5x what you'd pay for one of the Musashi DH katana. Add that to the price of the katana - you're looking at a minimum of $180...

It wouldn't be that much to customs. I would think you could get one for 140 or so including shipping, even less if you can get it listed as being a gift.

Would that work? How would that affect shipping costs?

Would that work? How would that affect shipping costs? If you're Lucky ! ... Customs are free to give an estimated value to the shipped object and to maintain that amount then for calculating the costs. That's what I had to endure. ... Bought a Hanwei Basket Hilted Broadsword at CoA for 219,95 $ Dutch customs "estimated" the value at 290 $(208euro) the gift thing doesn't work ... This is something I had to find out as well ... to my dismay ! Guess the trick is to slip through the mazes of the Customs net !
