Hi everyone, I am selling my Schmolz French 1st Empire officers sabre. I bought if four years ago from Monaghan Swords: www.facebook.com/groups/1454534811515787/user/100009512250397/It is in beautiful condition with a considerable amount of blue and gilt work still present. I have researched the piece and now know it was forged by Schmolz, a small cutler in Solingen, in or around 1809. The blade is gleaming and there is a small pinch mark on the back of the blade near the hilt. I have shown this to enthusiast and they are as puzzled as I am about it. Maybe someone can identify what they are form the photos. The ringlets on the scabard have been repaired but it doesn't detract from the sabre itself. Of course I am willing to answer any of your questions to the best of my ability I am looking for £1200 onoThank you for looking. Paul
