I would like to get my hands on the "All Steel Stiletto" made by Windlass Steelcrafts. While the product is no longer carried by the company's American distributors, it's still available in Europe. However, that jacks up the shipping costs, and my discussions with the overseas distributors indicate that it might not be available in time for Christmas. Moreover, the product cannot be special-ordered without its leather sheath (I try to avoid anything that requires the destruction of an animal, even for something intended as a gift).
I have shopped around for alternatives, but none I've yet found have that same elegance in the design of the grip. Darksword Armory offers a near-clone, except its grip isn't as elegant as the one from Windlass. Tod Cutler's version is better-looking than Windlass' on the business end, but the twisted handle with sharp corners looks downright uncomfortable to hold, plus it has a leather sheath. Deepeeka has a long-grip stiletto that, while cheap and sheath-less, looks almost clinical in its handle design.
In lieu of a suitable alternative, perhaps the best option is to seek a used Windlass stiletto for which the sheathe is either damaged or missing.
Suggestions?
P.S.: After signing up, even after being approved, I was met with a blank screen when trying to access the forum. Over the course of a few days, I tried different browsers as well as VPN exit locations, but only today did I finally find a match in the U.S. that got through. I don't know what political games are being played here, but the treatment is a slap in the face to privacy-conscious sword fans.
