Greetings, For a long time I've been browsing the internet for examples for rapiers. I personally seek to re-hilt my current Christus Imperat rapier in the future. However, I am unsure which design I want. I am a big fan of swept hilted rapiers (particularly those with three rings and a closed gate) and pappenheimers (and other similar hilts). I prefer a rapier with elaborate rings, such as in the aforementioned types. Well-decorated examples draw my attention. However, I lack the budget for an elaborate silver-plated hilt. In any case, I am choosing between a potential pappenheimer or a swept hilt (with three rings and a closed gate), with some chiselling/decoration and mild plate/gate piercing. Nonetheless, I have found some difficulty in finding historical examples that fit my criteria. I personally don't aim to copy an existing historical hilt, but rather design one that ''could'' exist, historically. In other words, a hilt that does not defy history. Below are some examples that I found to be somewhat within my criteria. I particularly seek for swept-hilts with well-decorated closed gate and bars, as well as pappenheimers with more elaborate piercing/chiselling. In any case, if any of you have some sources for rapiers that could be what I look for, I would gladly appreciate the response.

Much of the beauty in any (more or less) standard rapier design is in the proportion and details. One old favorite pappenheimer of mine is second from the left on the back wall in this photo. I believe it was said to be in the Musee des Invalides. There is a perfect mix of utility and elegance to it. I have never been able to find a better picture of it.
