Firstly, to give credit where credit is due - so I must give a special shout out and thanks to SBG member Stormmaster who first created a very cool list of US and European based sword makers on the forum here
I would often find myself fielding questions from people looking for custom makers and would point the towards that thread. But after a while it got me to thinking, why not expand on what he started and create a slightly more refined version of the directory over on the main site..
We will continue to refine and expand upon the information presented there, so in the meantime any immediate feedback or silly errors (as I am biting off a bit more than I can chew generally at the moment, so my 'senior moments' are becoming far more common - and get worse when I actually take a break from work, walk into a room and think 'Now, what the heck did I come in here for?'...
Hmmmm...
Anyway, hope it's helpful, it's a free directory - and the only qualifications needed is a dedicated website (sorry, just Facebook pages is not enough), proven track record and willingness to have their pic on the internet, so no mysterious forges with invisible owners allowed..
So yes, if you see anything that jumps out as you as incorrect or muddled up please let me know. I really hope this will be a useful tool for people looking for high end custom swords from passionate artisans who won't rip them off..
Thanks all, - Paul

Wulfund and Fabri Armorum in Czechia do some custom work. Not jewelry grade, mostly show combat stuff and what I would call "industrial" looking. Wulfund I have only heard they do custom so far but Fabri seems to make everything you like.
No personal experience with either though, only second hand accounts, not sure if you want to add.

Sabatier has a wait time for around 2+ years, due to large backlog. I ordered a blade from him in beginning of 2023 and he hasn't started with it yet.

Walter Sorrells had stopped accepting commissions quite a while back. I don’t know whether he opened his shop again, but his website doesn’t seem to indicate he has.

That's exactly the kind of feedback I am hoping for, have updated the Sabatier wait time, made a few extra notes about Walter Sorrels, sadly removed the link for Crown Forge and will check out the other recommendations - anyone have any idea of the lead times for:
- Sterling Armory
- Winter Cutlery
- Leonardo Daneluz
- Wulflund
- Fabri Armorum
The more the merrier, and the more accurate and up to date the better all round (of course).
Thanks folks! - Paul

Fabri say they can do small changes fast, a little kit bashing on their home page - unfortunately on something that is too different they might need you to contract for "a larger batch" or pay a higher price for the item. www.fabri-armorum.com/en/about-production/They are pretty vague on time and pricing, depends, probably need to ask. Their arms and armour are primarly sport combat, very tough with sparring edges, not beautiful collectors items.
