I purchased this katana from Ronin’s scratch and dent sale a couple years ago but ended up buying a Huawei that kinda pushed this thing off the shelf and into storage. It’s a beautiful sword and I love the color of the ito, especially next to the golds and browns of the koiguchi, kurigata and kojiri.
The sword is in very good shape and never used for cutting or anything. The only slight defects I could find are that the habaki was a tiny bit loose and would rattle a bit if you did a rattle test. I stuck a tiny piece of clear plastic in there and that solved the problem, and it’s pretty much impossible to see. See pic. There is also a slight bit of speckling on the blade from some surface rust on about a 4” section, see pic. I polished the rust off but didn’t try to fully remove the blemish. It’s hard to see and there are no pits or anything, it’d be easy to make perfect. Only other thing I could find is the little ding on the saya, see pic.
