Since alexxe stopped posting.
What's the legality of this? Am I liable to get into trouble importing this, as it is called Orcrist and I am not sure they have an official license to produce it. Not that I want this specifiically, but if there were a Glamdring (and UC is totally dragging their feet)...
Honestly I would advise them to not officially call it Orcrist at least.

Yeah, I don't wish any ill on Swordier, but the fact that they started with blatant Zombie Tools knock offs on their site and the direction they seem to be going really is a turn off. If they went more the direction that relevant Chinese producers LKChen did or even old-school Hanwei, I'd be down to try something.

I'm a bit iffy about this as well, had honestly forgotten about the ZT knock offs. Generally they make good swords, but that is a bit too far - again, I am going with the idea they don't have a license, if they did they would have that plastered all over like UC. Really wondering if customs would/could declare this as an "illegal reproduction" (like those fake designer bags) and impound it. Again, not thinking about buying this (I loath this swords design - specifically the handle), but if someone were to buy it they might have a rude awakening since customs go after the recipient as well (not that their grasp reaches all the way to china, swordier basically has nothing to be afraid of here).

I don't think customs would have an issue with it. It is visually different enough from the official versions. So, since it isn't pretending to be an actual brand (they aren't selling it as a UC orcrist), i think it is fine. I would get one if it wasn't $600!!! Why is it so expensive when the rest of their swords are sub$300?!

They are trying to set up the intricate fittings and stuff as a reason, but I don't know, looks like generic cast stuff.
Just feels like a bit of a money grab knowing the markets hunger for LotR pieces to be honest.. (especially since they have more intricate pieces for less)
At least it's not doing this like the original....

To my eye, it's a good deal harder to make than their other offerings. I don't think there's much of a movie sword tax on it. The specs and execution are extremely nice. If I get one, I'll report, but there's a decent chance.
