Hi, today I received a new stainless steel sword (dull, decorative). Is there a procedure I should follow to clean it? Someone told me I could use isopropyl alcohol and then a coat of oil, is that advisable?

If it's stainless steel there is no need for oil really. Isopropanol or any alcohol is good, you can also use soap and water (some spots don't dissolve in alcohols). Keep alcohol away from wood or leather (grip for example oor sheath). You could oil it but it's not needed on stainless, just dry it thoroughly before sheathing. Unless the sheath is really wet it should not rust.
