How am I supposed to add pics if every Pic I take is over 1mb?? I'm using a cell phone to take pics, not a professional Canon camera. Anybody have any ideas how to get photos less than 1mb??
Thank you

You need to resize them. Lower the resolution until it's under 1Mb. Also if you save a .jpeg at like 80% quality (which some programs like XNView do automatically) it can get smaller by just saving the picture again. Saving it at 80% will reduce the size by almost 40% but you can't really tell. Personally I resize to 1500x2000 at 80%, that will land most pics under 1Mb.

There are apps for smartphones or programs for PC which reduce the file size of pictures, I use Photo Resizer HD. You can reduce the size in pixels and/or use higher jpeg compression.

Also always good to crop out unnecessary parts of the picture, you don't need the full a 4x3 aspect ratio picture to show a sword, you can just cut out only the sword. Or hands, you don't need hands, cut them out.
And most phones can resize pictures with their normal software package, you don't neeed something extra. It's in the software you view the pictures with. Some cameras can do it as well, but it's more complicated than a PC program - most of these can even do batches (apply resize to a list/folder of pictures).

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

You can also upload them at whatever size you want to an album in Imgur or Google and post the link.

I'm always cutting my nasty feet outta pictures, lol...saves some bits and bytes. To keep things at full resolution, using Google Photos and sharing an album is a great way.

I hate visiting a forum a year later and all the images are broken links, that's why I personally upload directly. For example I've been looking for a makers mark or a sppecific blade, Google still has the thumbnail but the threads images are gone because the were deleted for inactivity or the hoster doesn't exist no more.
But yes, external image hosters are a good way if you want or need to use the full sized image or a video, although it depends. It's not that nice to share a 200Mb .RAW file for people with slow internet. Google Photos you need to grant access to people, which seems to be troublesome sometimes.

MrStabby....I do agree. I was doing some research lately that ran into a lot of that, so I do feel your pain. I tend to upload as well.
For google photos, though, you just need to copy and paste a sharing link to the folder and anyone who uses that link gets in without individual approvals.

I usually take a wider shot on my phone so I can crop it. A simple cropping can take a 3.5MB+ photo and turn it into a 600KB photo, and because I didn't mess with the resolution or scaling, nothing is lost.
I've also had a Photobucket account for...20 years or so that I'll occasionally put things in if I need to email or PM any photos, especially a lot. Unfortunately, many image hosts do compress files to a maximum size so some details get a little fuzzy if the original was large.

You can also host pictures externally and link them here, such as on imgbb, instagram, or imgur.
