Hey, I am looking for a first katana to order online. My Budget is 250-350 USD. From what I've seen, the options most recommended are Kult Of Athena, Hanbon Forge, and Swords Of Northshire. what would you all recommend I buy? I want it to be aesthetic but also functional and sharp.

I own a couple, and have found them to be reasonably priced, well made, and no-nonsense cutters.

Most budget katana are going to be in the same range regarding function and asthetics in the $250-$350 range. But since you're buying budget production you want to buy from a vendor than has good return policies. You're top three in the US are going to be, KultofAthena.com MuseumReplicas.com sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com Benefits of each is KOA is going to have the most variety and manufacturers, MRL is going to have the best discounts but are limited by only having Hanwei katana and SBG is going to have a good mix of both decent sales and stock. As far as manufacturers go your best options are going to be from, Hanwei, Dragon King, Balaur Arms, Ryujin, and Ronin Katana. Here's my top picks for a asthetically pleasing and functional katana from each manufacturer and site. www.kultofathena.com/product/iron-tiger-forge-yamato-no-orochi-t10-differentially-hardened-katana/www.kultofathena.com/product/ronin-katana-dojo-pro-model-21/sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com/product1365.htmlsbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com/product651.htmlmuseumreplicas.com/hana-katanamuseumreplicas.com/practical-plus-katana-by-paul-chen-hanwei/The Hana is my personal favorite but any of those would be a solid pick. Plus if you buy from MRL right now they're offering 15% off which is a bonus.

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

I have a Ryujin T10 Shobu Zukuri and a Ronin Katana Dojo Pro. I prefer the Ryujin, and there's always good deals in the sales section here, but if you decide to go with RK, keep in mind their scratch and dent sales. roninkatana.com/scratch-and-dent-sword-sale/
