Armae.com offers a decent variety of swords, particularly for the Napoleonic period. Their prices are also lower than some other European sellers.
However, when looking at the 19th-20th century sword section, most swords seem to be made by either Universal Sword. The descriptions for these swords typically only list the length and weight (it's unclear if this includes the scabbard).
I contacted Armae.com via email to inquire about the brand of their F1 type saber, as I've never seen a blackened version before. While they couldn't confirm the specific brand, they did assure you that the blade is made of AISI 1065 high carbon steel with a hardness of HRC 48-52. If I remember correctly Universal Sword switched from EN9 to AISI 1065 steel, which could suggest the F1 saber is from them. However, without confirmation from Armae.com, it's impossible to be certain.
Does anyone know more about the origin of Armae swords? Is the sword likely to have similar quality to Universal Swords, or is it more likely to be comparable to Deepeeka? Thanks in advance!

You should post links to the specific one you mean. The F1 they sshow looks pretty much liike Universal, but that says nothing, maybe just an unbranded sword from the same forge.

Yeah, pretty much looks like the Universal, even the writing on the spine. (I honestly believed the writing was photoshopped, but it looks like it belongs there)
I wouldn't get hung up too much on the steel, not every shop does its due diligence and unless they made a change the steel won't matter much. According to some reviews Universal Swords are soft (under 45HRC) and at that point, it just does not make any difference.
EDIT: And having had a look on the homepage they do offer some blued/coloured scabbards, just not officially for this one. Might be a custom offer for Armae.

That's would explain why I couldn't find the blackened version at any other seller/maker (even on the Universal Swords and Weapons Edge websites).
Thanks a ton!

After thinking, why the blackened version could be cheaper, it could also be a "kit-bash", where they used up old stock, might be the scabbard from another, similar saber. But it also could be someone ordered a black one and never took it. In the end take what you like better, I personally like the blackened steel scabbards very much.

Yeah, I also think it could be an old, unclaimed custom order or maybe some old stock they need to sell. The saber seems to be the same in both versions, so I'll probably pick the blackened one since I like it more too.
