Anyone out there have a big XIV/XVI from Mateusz Sulowski?
I'm debating whether to request a new build for the sword only from Mateusz or seek out used options. But I just don't know how many used options are out there, in the hands of someone willing to part with it. Hope there is!
Cheers.

toddstratton1 yeah, I know about wildy's sword, but it's more expensive than I thought it would be for a "used" word. Rather, I can get a new XIV/XVI big from Mateusz for 1800 Euro, so I'd rather get the fittings to my liking? The fittings on wildy's are too fancy for my taste, haha. I like plain things (for the most part). I saw your listing, as well, but I really have my heart set on a big boy. Thanks for your input!

I checked on his website out of curiosity and it looks like Mateusz has made 9 or 10 of the big XIV/XVIs in total, so I’d be surprised if another one came on the market but it’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility! I bought Wildy’s sword and, while I also typically prefer more understated pieces as well (like my Mateusz Sulowski XVa), I liked the idea of having something of a showstopper in the collection. His big XIV/XVIs are really impressive, imposing beasts of a sword.

I don't think he does custom orders anymore like Damian does on specific request though.

My count was predicated on the assumption that he has all of the swords he has made on his website. It’s possible that that’s not the case!

He has an in stock section of his site where I see two of those typologies of swords, one single handed, and one previously available that is now reserved. He also posted on facebook for one of the sword groups. His plans for some new swords he plans on doing through this remaining year. Including a few historical museum pieces. I am having a hard time finding that post. But periodically you can go to the in stock part of his site and see which blades he finished the main work on, until someone purchases that would request different types of themes for the grip color and scabbard etc. Doesn't hurt to just email him and ask if he can take on a specific commission as well. But I am not sure if he is doing that regularly anymore is all. sulowskiswords.com/in-stock/

arbladeworks Congrats! I hope you enjoy the semprini out of that blade. I may just go for a new request from Mateusz. Kind of looking forward to building my own scabbard for it.

Hit him an email, he answers regulary and the price can vary from "high end reproduction" to "expensive custom" depending on how much you want to dress it up. If you're gonna diy the scabbard then that will save quite a few bucks. Easiest is to look through his catalogue and pick equivalent to what he's already made. That way you have a picture of how it might come out looking.

I reached out to Mateusz in February about purchasing a XVa from his in stock page and 9 days after I sent payment he had completed the grip, scabbard and belting and was ready to ship to my door, and I had high quality photos of the finished blade to drool over in the meantime.
