Besides military swords, was there any manufacture of medieval type swords ( i.e, reproductions) during the Victorian era? And if so, who was making them and are any ever on the market?

I don't know who was making them, but there were definitely medieval style swords made during the Victorian era. Some were even part of prominent collections before they learned that they were much newer than originally thought. Del Tin did a repro for MRL based on the MET museum's sword in Records of the Medieval Sword (as XV.9).

To my knowledge they were churning out swords of all types, a lot of them non functional and/or historically inaccurate. While there are good ones myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.38810.htmlMany look like those spanish "Toledo" wallhangers, with cast metal grips not made to be used and not historically accurate but very flashy. They loved stuff like this. Deco items made en masse for the upper middle class. Who made them I cannot say. Look at the "History" section in the following article.
