Hello, I have this mace for sale, barely used, maybe made contact with only 3 things total. I am not sure that there are any defects at all, but I can check if you want. It's just been sitting in storage. I do not want it because I don't think maces are a good choice for killing zombies in the event of them becoming real, so I am selling it. This is an exact replica of a real mace from the 1400s or around then.
It currently goes for $485 + $38 for shipping on at the arm-n-armor website. My price is $300 + shipping.
"A beautiful High Gothic knightly weapon, this mace is one of the most recognized forms of medieval arms of all time. It has been displayed in the raised hand of the gothic mounted armor in the Wallace Collection, London for many years. The photo of this display has graced the cover of many books on armor and weapons.
The sweeping pierced flanges of the head, hexagonal shaft, and bronze base finial are all features of the gothic mace. The head of this item is copied directly from the original in exacting detail. Its balance and weight allow this brutal weapon to be wielded with incredible agility and speed. It is a truly classic example of the innovation and talent of the arms makers of this period."
Let me know if you're interested.

I HAVE been wanting a mace for my collection. But also for the zombie-killing aspect. So I am curious, why do you think it wouldn't be a good zombie tool? I always thought a mace would be a great zombie tool. Maces and axes. So what is your reasoning, and what do you think would be better?

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

I always thought a mace would be a great zombie tool. Maces and axes. So what is your reasoning, and what do you think would be better? Steve WELL, not to hijack a sales thread, but had to comment. First of all, read the initial disclaimer, “BARELY USED” and “made contact with only three things”, so I’m thinking 3 zombies, real or imaginary not withstanding. If it didn’t do well, perhaps that’s the reasoning, or maybe he’s a zombie himself now…? Second, a smashing weapon I’d think would be better than a slashing weapon, since theoretically a zombie could lose an extremity and keep on coming, but a bash to the head would take it out. BUT this mace is only 20.4” long total, minus 4.4” for the grip, so only 16” between the incoming zombie and ear chewing fun. A little too close for comfort for my taste. What would be better? Something with distance…like an RPG?

I'm still waiting to hear why you think it wouldn't be a good zombie weapon?! I am deciding if I need it or not..... But if you think it is not a good zombie weapon, then not sure.

Impact weapons like this mace seem horrible for zombies, as the agent of infection is often bloodborne. Plus who wants to get within mace-reach of a zombie?
