Experiment over, this was the last of my more beefy blades i'll forge unless requested. Maple Handle that has been charred and dyed with a copper ferrule. Copper has been patinated with a rustic version of a rokusho finish to match the more rustic feel of the knife. Honestly "shabby sheek" comes to mind :) A C-Grind or basically a groove on one side of the blade was put in to allow for better food release and to lighten the blade. I'll generally only do one sided grooves like this because it's for food release, and you only need stuff to release from one side when cutting ;) As this groove is on the right it is suited best for those that are right handed (Sorry lefties, I'll have a left handed one out soon :) I attempted to leave more niku or "meat" in the first 1/3 of the knife and then thinned her out quite a bit for the ladder 2/3rds for more delicate work :) Here's a link to a review that Matthew Jensen recently did for one of my blade's :) This one has a much better blade finish and a much smaller, contoured shape to the handle ;)
