I'm not sure about the historical accuracy of those particular multi-belt suspensions, but my Ljubljana just wants to jump in there and make short work of that armor.....

Hah, like my Munich! Brian's scabbard for it has also such a suspension and even as I have a picture of the previous owner wearing it I passed and wrapped it decoratively around the scabbard.

So having spoken with Brian, it seems like the double belt suspension is featured in effigies and paintings from the period, but that the backside is not featured and is mainly the result of inspiration and deduction. I'll definitely try it on my next scabbard (that is the one thing holywood and I have in common: we are suckers for belts).
