Hi guys…

Up for review is my finished to near finished Zweihander. It is a training sword that has been finished out to be a Family Great Sword.

It is with glad heart I honor the smith, crafts workers and artisans that have given their time, energy and passion to bringing this sword to the culmination that it is.

This is a customized Zweihander from Ritter Steel, purchased through Kult of Athena. I am not sure if they are still available for purchase. This is an open thread. Please be as critical as you like, but refrain from ad hominem attacks and I will do the same.

I have been thinking and training in Martial Arts since I was a little boy. I transitioned from the Old School (1500’s) Japanese to Old School German Martial Arts a few years ago. I also drilled with an American saber as well to help my footwork.

They still offer a similar sword, but yours might be better as the guard seems more rugged and give more area for the forward grip than the current model.

With such a broad background in swordsmanship (both Eastern and Western), what attracted you to this make/model?

You put a lot of thought and time into customizing it, so I figure this model has a special meaning to merit the attention.
