I know military sabre is not really the correct term to use but I do not know what term to use instead. Anyhow, do any of you train? What sources/systems do you study?
I do not have a lot of training under an instructor outside of a few drop-in classes when I could manage time but I do like studying and working from manuals. Right now I am starting to get into German covered cut fencing.

Best sources to study are Roworth "Art of Defense on Foot with Broadsword and Sabre", and any of the books by Capt. Alfred Hutton.

I am currently messing around with English translations of Ignatz Montag and FC Christmann. Christmann is actually similar to Roworth but a little deeper. Christmann was a soldier in Napoleons army There is a decent YouTube channel for Christmann's method

Yes. Just trying to open conversation, I figured quite a few here probably do and probably at a much higher level than my "backyard efforts" lol

Bumping this up because I’m now head over heels for sabre. Yes! I’m about a month into studying British sabre fencing. Using Roworth (well, with Taylor and Angelo). It’s the most fun.
Angelo’s illustrations are SO helpful. Taylor’s ten lessons are essential to understanding what Roworth is trying to say in the text.
Nick Thomas is a HUGE Roworth fan, and he has awesome videos on YT on the topic.
