For this project, I asked Ryansword to produce a full custom build in order to facilitate my work later on. They did quite well. I asked for a partial rattan saya with a hole for the tsuno and the kurigata, without any painting. Kurigata, tsuno and kojiri are in jade epoxy. I had a koiguchi too but it was too large to fit and would require some precision job, a risk I didn't want to take, so regular koiguchi. Then I acquired some snake skin and proceeded to wrap the saya. I applied some layers of clear coat on a scrap piece of skin, to check the results before eventually going on the full saya. Need to wait 24h so tomorrow I'll know how the skin reacted. Currently adding the kojiri. The tsuka will be wrapped in akechimaki style, probably in black leather ito. Updates will follow.

Pretty cool project! I like the jade epoxy and the snake skin. That blade is very distinctive looking. Going to look great!

Looks a fun job, how long is the nagasa?
