At the moment it seems ashamedly that Albion is now 2 years or 24 months wait and not just 1 year, I wish they could maybe just have hired more people and expanded to maybe make production quicker.
Would you say anybody else out there sells atleast Albion quality gladius swords and how would you say Albion gladius swords differ? Where can you also find them sold second hand more than anywhere? Cause I think I would like the Mainz honestly or the Augustus.

I would wait for the Albion! They say the Deepeeka are decent swords, but they are not Albion quality. Perhaps you can get an Albion bare blade and have it mounted by someone else?

there was a really nice Davis Reproductions gladius sold in the classifieds here (missed out on it right before KoA got some Albion gladii in stock). No idea what his backlog and pricing is though. Probably more expensive since it came with a scabbard.

I ended up with the Davis Reproductions and had the opportunity to handle an Allectus and an Augustus within weeks of receiving the Davis. I actually preferred the blade on the Davis (very slightly). I liked the hilt on the Augustus slightly better than the Davis, but I liked the hilt on the Davis much more than the hilt on the Allectus. The wood finish on the Albions felt more robust than on the Davis; more of a shine like on a dinner table, but I don't know if that's good or bad.
All in all, there's only a nitpicker's amount of difference between them. I didn't cut with the Albions, but the Davis is a monster cutter. The edge geometry was absolutely perfect. Though I did get an arming sword afterwards from Davis, but the edge wasn't as good. Your mileage may vary.
In summary, I can't recommend Davis Reproductions enough! Also, because he's his own shop, you can have a say on the design if you want!

I had a Mark Morrow and an Albion, both Mainz style and kept the Mark Marrow. His Roman swords are as good as any sword maker working today in the US. Another very good US based sword maker is Patrick Pointer. He doesn't make the blades himself, but they are very good. His reputation are with the hilts, the very best most accurate wood work in the world. I have several non-Roman Albions and I like them, very well made and lighter than most.

I own a Mark Marrow custom Pompeii style "big" gadius / semi spatha and an Albion Decurio Spatha. Both are good swords and fierce weapons but the Mark Marrow is the one I would take into battle or the Zombie apocalypse...

Yeah, the Mark Marrow blades look awesome. I do not have a Gladius in my collection but I want to get one next year. Having more options besides Albion is always great.

One of the only things that i do not like about Albion blades are the fact that you have to source your own scabbards. My Mark Marrow sword, while more expensive than the Albion Pompeii, was custom made (equal or higher quality I think) to my specification AND it came with a quality scabbard. Mark is well known for his custom Roman arms.
