I finished sharpening and slightly reprofiling my Windlass Battlecry Agincourt. I was going to cold-blue it when I was done (the original finish was basically just paint that scratched easily and provided little rust protection), but I liked it in its naked state so much that I stripped the rest of the black off (with acetone and ScotchBrite) except the fullers. I then gave it a bit of a polish and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. Attachments:

Nice! I remember someone doing the same with the Acre. Maybe I'll try it some day on mine.

This looks great. I've just picked up a 'Bosworth' model and thinking of doing the same.
Any tips? I was going to go at it with metal polish and wire wool.

Thought this was blued, weird that it's paint. Looks great.

That's very good to know! I also didn't think it was paint... I must say, the black colour is something that has really been putting me off those swords, although I really like the designs! How did you do to remove the paint where the guard meets the blade? I'd imagine it would require a bit of work to get into these tight spaces?

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

I do like that better! Might have to do it with mine as well if I don't sell it. Is the finish type the same on the Maldon?
Funny what we post for nude photos on here! Sexy!

Work in progress...or semi-naked, if you will... An hour or so with scotchbrite, acetone, followed by 0000 wire wool and metal polish. Just the other side to do now.
