I have a little Etsy shop where i design and fabricate ergonomic grips for use in the sport of fencing. I am now waiting to produce proprietary pommels for those grips. However I do not have a metal lathe and i don’t have a lot of room to work with in my shop. Will anyone suggest a metal lathe that could turn a steel pommel that isn’t really huge and expensive as this is the only purpose i would use the machine.
sincere regards, ‘Phil

Just use a belt or disc grinder and files. A lathe is nice, but there really isn't a way to get a tiny one that's functional. Rough shape with the grinders, fine shape with files, polish with sandpaper. That's what most knife or sword makers use.
