Yeah, swingweight! Exactly how I measure my swords. With the measurement results: Bah, Meh, Mhmm and Whoaa!

Hi,
Chiming in— I have both the Sovereign and the Chevalier. Love them both!
The Chevalier (and of course Oakeshott which shares the same blade) is a special sword. The most unique in a way out of all the ones I have in that it is surprisingly light without feeling like a toy. Peter J certainly did his job. Perhaps it’s the superlative balance?
I often speculate about the intended opponent. Unarmored or lightly armored? More a cavalry sidearm for fighting in the Middle East during the crusades? Or a knightly arming sword for more refined situations?
Many people have written about the Sovereign. A lot of authority for sure. Once upon a time it seemed heavy but after some years of drilling it feels perfect. Deceptively compact (it’s only short compared to “standard” medieval arming sword length). Not mean for big swings all the time I think. I imagine more probing buckler work followed by quick cuts a la Rolan Warzecha…

A trade has been arranged - pending transfer of funds for the scabbard.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in and/or offered up their fine pieces for mine.
