I am new to this Forum. About 10 years ago I purchased a small collection of Japanese Swords but have, over the years. sold or traded them off. I still have the "itch" and purchased a sword this weekend. I has military furniture and a beautiful blade with nice Hamon. In my original group of swords I had a lady in Florida who translated the Mei, but have no one now. Would anyone in this group be able and willing to translate the four character Mei on my new sword. It has no Showa or other military makings. I am hoping I have stumbled onto a really nice sword. Thanks, NewSwordLucas

A mei does not give a sword any provenance unless validated by someone who can with certainty know it's legitimacy or lack-thereof compared to the swords other characteristics.
As best I can tell this reads as: 中島貞永 Nakajima Sadanaga
Any more pictures of the actual sword?
