Today I recieved my English cutlass by Windlass which I bought from Amazon. I must say I am impressed as this sword came sharper than any I have ever got out of the box. It roughly shaved hair and cut a pepsi bottle pretty effrortlessly. The grip looks small but it fit my hand well and I had no problem with edge allignment. the sword cut through the bottle with a ring and felt pretty good in the cut. The only gripe I have is a bit of a hot spot where the rear bar of the guard meets the pommel but it is not enough to really bother me and if you wear gloves it would probably be no problem at all. The sword feels solid and is a bit blade heavy but still lively in the hand.

The blade is really nice but I found the hilt/grip much too small for my hands.
I couldn't get my little finger in.
I know such hangers often were used with only the three bigger fingers but for me it wasn't acceptable, I did much rework on the hilt to fit my hand.
I really like the three branched guard, the historical origin of the US Cavalry Saber hilt (and some French sabers

) from the 1751 British Infantry Hanger:

The originals have normal sized hilts, dunno what Windlass thoughts were here.
I like the blade better than the similar one on the1860 Cutlass.
