1500 for this atrim with a Zach suttles scabbard is an absolutely amazing deal. The sword alone sells for like 1300-1400 if I remember correctly

Ugh. Why do you have to torture me? This is one of the models I want badly, and with a scabbard no less! I simply can't afford it though.

There are a lot of awesome swords being posted lately but the post-holiday/new years financial crunch is real. This sword with scabbard is an absolute steal! I haven’t handled the new Tellaro which is based on this model (the Tellaro adds about 3.5 oz for some reason), the Atrim 18b.15 is without a doubt one of my favorite swords because it is possibly the most nimble competition cutter I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. For context of similar wide blade styles, I also own an Albion Alexandria and Atrim 18b.16 (15’s bigger brother). The 15 is almost comparable in cutting power to the other two, but easily wins with agility and precision over both. In terms of agility, the only swords used in two hands I have that are quicker are a couple light katanas (both well under 2.8 lbs). No hand-and-a-half or two hander in the medieval style I’ve owned or handled comes close. And new price from Gus was/is $1400 so getting a matching Suttles scabbard for $100 is ridiculous! This sword is like a sports car that begs to be driven.

There was an offer pending. That deal didn’t materialize. So it’s back and still available.

Wow if I didn't just buy the 18b.16 this would have been swooped quick, I can't believe the deal fell through and it's even lower priced now. If this doesn't sell in 24 hours we are in a historically slow sword market right now lol basically getting the scabbard for free with that price

The .16 is the longer one right? It's longer by 2 inches but more notable is the weight. It's 2lbs 15 ozs, which is quite a good amount of weight for an Angus Trim sword in general especially for one with a 33 inch blade. Mine is 2 lbs 14 ozs though, w smidge lighter. It helps to have more heft and authority in the cut with thicker targets and etc. Handles more like a longsword, better used with two hands. Versus the XVIIIb.15 which feels amazing in 1 hand and more control with 2. I'm thinking yours is sold by now lol

I have both the .15 and .16. Both are excellent swords and I got each to compare and contrast. Personally I think I like the .15 better because of the agility, speed, and control. The .16 is still fantastically maneuverable for just under 3lbs at 33 inch blade and a handle about 2 inches longer. Having said that, the extra weight and length should lend to better cutting on tatami or other thicker or medium targets. I’ve not cut tatami mats with either just yet but both will have no problems. Double rolls I think the .16 would have a slight advantage. In a hypothetical duel, that would be tough as the extra 2 inches plus weight might have me lean toward the .16, but with the .15 you could definitely reposte and do harassing and sniping attacks much quicker.
