I have not come across this description before. I gather these are Mounted Chasseurs of the Imperial Guard? Or is this a second empire thing?

It's a general question, not related to a sword. Just want to know what they were and when? I assume they were different to Mounted Chasseurs of the Imperial Guard?

Ahh, misunderstood, but it would be better to see the ad. Is it an English language ad, or something translated by Google?
I suspect the latter. The French term for the Mounted Chasseurs of the Imperial Guard was "Chasseurs à Cheval de La Garde Impériale" which would translate (in a word to word kind of literal translation) to "Horse Hunters of the Imperial Guard"
Edit: Just ran it through Google translate and it coughed up "Horse Hunters...."
