Does anyone know of a website or books that explain koshirae symbolism? Have searched here and google but haven’t found what I want. What I mean is what do the different animals, flowers, insects, etc represent. I think the dragonfly means good luck but not sure on that. Thanks in advance.

Search on the Nihonto Message board. They discuss that stuff all the time. There are books on that, but I don't recall what they are. Probably among the NMB recommended books or sites.
There's also google! Anyway, apparently the dragonfly symbolizes agility, determination and victory. Just google "dragonfly Japanese symbolism"

Look through the articles on Markus Sesko's site, markussesko.com/ . He has also written at least one book on koshirae.
