Hi everyone, can you please share your opinions and pictures if you have any katana or katana style fantasy blades made by John. I`m about to commission a fantasy katana and looking for some input/experience. How they/yours handle, cut, feel. It will be a peened pommel with traditional looking handle and furniture but more like an elven katana blade.
Thanks

Sorry I can't contribute to the specifics of a John Lundemo katana but I can attest that I have two non-katana pieces from John, both are amazing in every way.
If you google "Proximus Lundemo" (a fantasy leafblade-spatha style) and "Lævateinn Lundemo" (an edged semi-fantasy smallsword) the pictures should come up, albeit probably on another forum.

If it's going to be a fantasy blade with a peened pommel construction, I imagine it would be a stout cutter. I can't speak to "eleven" or fantasy, but I have a daisho by Lundemo that are mounted traditionally. They are heavy but well balanced blades with a great deal, bordering on too much niku, however it is exactly what I asked for. I cut 1in dowels with them when they were in foundation polish. No chipping or edge rolling. I have a German style Long sword also made by Lundemo and it is immaculate. Pics of a few Japanese style blades by lundemo finished traditionally styled on my Instagram page instagram.com/onigiriswords?igshid=NzZlODBkYWE4Ng==

I have a Type XIV arming sword and a Type F3C++ two-hand basket hilt fantasy falchion with blades by Lundemo.
They are really very nice, though a little on the robust side.
I haven’t cut with either, but I would trust them against anything short of steel or stone.
A custom Lundemo fantasy blade will be sweet!
