I am in the market for a Kriegsmesser. I am torn between Landsknecht Emporium, Pavel Moc, or waiting for the (hopefully) 2024 Balaur Arms model. Am I missing any makers? Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with these makers? Thank you for your time.

The Pavel Moc and Landsknecht emporium are much better than Baluar Arms imo. Though the Baluar arms isn't a bad choice at its price range. I find the others to just be more consistent in higher quality such as sharpness being even throughout the blade. Not too flexible or overly thin, etc.

My only concern with LandsKnecht Emporium is that I have heard that their fit and finish can be "Rustic"

It's just hand made fit, rather than machine production CNC milled symmetrical. It doesn't cause any issues with performance or handling at all. And just gives it a bit more of an authentic feel. It isn't anything that would be ugly by any means at all.

Tod Cutler’s messer is pretty good imho.

"My only concern with LandsKnecht Emporium is that I have heard that their fit and finish can be "Rustic" I have their Falke and granted it's their most expensive offering but I can assure you their finish is not rustic. I will 100% buy more of their messers, I also like their Dussack. Imo, they nailed the design of their messers. They look good and have good stats and great blade sharpness. Pavel Moc one looks good but it's a little on the heavy side (the grip is very thick) and the sharpness is not exactly stellar looking at reviews (I think he's better at making practice blunts than sharps). The Balaur arms Kriegsmesser will not come back looking like the Knecht but you can always try to pick one up on the secondhand market.
